Dysport® in Virginia Beach

Some people get vertical lines between the eyebrows (often called “frown lines”), while others get lines right across the forehead. Those vertical “frown” lines between your eyebrows (known as glabellar lines) and the vertical ones across your forehead, are the result of facial muscles interacting with sun-damaged skin.

What is Dysport®?

Over time, the muscles above and between the eyebrows repeatedly contract and tighten, causing wrinkles. Dysport® is an injection offered by Associates in Plastic Surgery in Virginia Beach. It is used to temporarily improve the look of your moderate to severe frown lines without changing the look of your whole face. With just one injection into each of five points between and over the eyebrows, Dysport® in Virginia Beach blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscles, ultimately resulting in a reduction of muscle activity and temporarily preventing contraction of the muscles that cause frown lines.

The untreated facial muscles still work like normal, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling in untreated areas. Dysport® spreads a bit farther from the injection point than Botox: one to three centimeters compared to Botox’s one centimeter. This means that fewer injections are needed.

Am I a good candidate for Dysport® in Virginia Beach?

Dysport® reduces facial wrinkles in the forehead and between the eyes in both men and women of all skin tones.

What can I expect after Dysport®?

For up to four entire months, Dysport® works to block the signal from the nerve to the muscles, resulting in a reduction of muscle activity and temporarily preventing contraction of the muscles that cause frown lines. It’s important to note that you should not be treated with Dysport® more frequently than every 90 days.

How long is recovery after Dysport®?
