The position of the eyebrows plays a significant role in non-verbal communication as well as affecting the attractiveness of the human face. With aging, the position of the outer portion brows tends to migrate. A low or sagging brow can send the message that one is angry, tired or sad. The brow lift procedure produces an ideal eyebrow shape by correcting sagging brows and reducing wrinkles on the forehead. It also helps to lessen the skin of the upper eyelids. Upper eyelid surgery is often performed in conjunction with a brow lift.
How is a Brow Lift accomplished?
A brow lift can be accomplished with an incision that extends across the hairline of the forehead or well up into the hairline or done endoscopically with no scar below the hairline. At our practice, the majority of brow lifts are done with the endoscope, which allows for smaller incisions above the hairline.
Recovery is relatively rapid. Discomfort is moderate and analgesics are usually not needed after the first postoperative week. Usually, a patient can return to work within 1 to 2 weeks.
